Steeped in charm and character, The Ugly Bug Inn bar is hosted by friendly staff and is extensively stocked as a licensed Freehouse with an excellent selection of real ales, beers, wines and spirits to suit most pockets and palates. Relax in comfortable surroundings in the bar, on the terrace or in the grounds at your leisure during our year-round long opening hours and soak in the fascinating local atmosphere and interests.

Restaurant

Overlooking the exquisite landscaped grounds, the conservatory restaurant and special-functions rooms offer good food and comfortable facilities in an intimate setting. With both bar and restaurant menus available during extended luncheon and evening times, there is something delightful on offer for everyone from the excellent resident chef and dedicated staff. The Ugly Bug Inn is the ideal rural venue for most special occasions, be it for example a wedding reception, anniversary or private party, for the smaller to medium-sized gathering. Held inside, on the terrace or within the mature attractive grounds, most memorable occasions are catered for year-round, with ample parking and access to the romantic and well stocked with ornamental fish lakeland setting.

Comprehensive specialist outside catering facilities is also provided through our associate organisation, Ugly Bug Catering, for most private and business functions of any size. Regardless of your needs, we can quote for, and cater for, most functions.

The Grounds

One of the most appreciated features of the world famous Ugly Bug Inn is the highly unusual Lakeland setting within the exceptionally attractive mature landscaped grounds. Well stocked with a variety of ornamental fish and romantically bridged to a more-private area, the lake, lakeside setting, and the entire grounds, are a delight to be enjoyed by any visitor.
